poetry

Nowadays Whatever you do Someone will be offended Something will be violated. The war will be affronted, If a dove nests in a tank caterpillar track Or a spider weaves webs round the barrel of a long range artillery. The war will be affronted, If a tulip flutters in the breeze near a booby trap Or a walnut tree’s root entangles a planted landmine. The war will be affronted, If a rose bursts into bloom just when the fire is commanded. Yet always at the table of love There is room for me There is room for us There is room for peace So that eyes can speak with love So that hearts can laugh in their native tongue So that hands can express intimate feelings A rainbow sweeping as earth on the table No one is excluded Everyone can love and be loved Let anyone who is offended be offended a.a.janvand
